Bladder Problems

Urinary Reflex/Bladder infections

"…her immune system is much stronger!"

I first brought my daughter Tori to Dr Melendez in July of 2004 on the advice of another patient and friend, Amy Causey.  Tori had been diagnosed with urinary reflux when she was a toddler and was afflicted with chronic and recurring bladder infections ever since.

I originally sought help from conventional medical treatment, which entailed constant antibiotics and the possibility of surgery to correct the problem.  The results were disappointing, we were still dealing recurrent bladder infections…don't get me started!

Since Tori started chiropractic corrective adjustment, she has not had any bladder infections and her immune system is much stronger!  Her emotion and mental well-being is excellent with an additional benefit of not missing school anymore.

Thank you,

“I had many bladder infections that required many trips to the doctor…”

When I first came to you in September 2007, I was so frustrated because of my bladder problems. From the time I was three years old (I am nine now), I had many bladder infections that required many trips to the doctor and sometimes to the emergency room. I also had a problem with feeling the need to empty my bladder. I never felt the urge to go to the bathroom. My parents were so worried because time and again I would lose my bladder and have an embarrassing accident. Sometimes these accidents would happen at school. I always had to pack extra clothes for school. The doctor and my parents told me to keep drinking water, but that only filled my bladder and made for bigger accidents. I could never jump on run without worrying. I always felt worried about going to sleepovers. Someone always had to remind me to go to the bathroom. Why couldn’t I feel the urge to go? I was getting so tired of this routine.

When we went to the doctors, they would always test my urine and find an infection. I tried all the antibiotics out there. My mother knew something was wrong. She told the doctor that my urine had a strange color and odor- even after finishing all the days of antibiotics. They sent me to Children’s Hospital when I was four. They shot a dye in my bladder to see if the tube to my kidneys were working right. The test hurt so much and nothing was wrong with the valves of my tubes that go from the bladder to the kidneys. No one had an answer for my problem.

Last August, I was at my cousins house playing. I remember standing up and right then, I lost control of my bladder. I was so embarrassed. My little cousins are potty trained and they saw me lose my bladder. Something had to be done.

A few weeks later, at a school function, my mom bumped into Dr. Loraine. On a whim, she mentioned my condition to Dr. Lorraine and the rest was “a prayer come true.” Dr. Lorraine explained how the nervous system controlled all the signals of the body. She set us up with my first appointment with Dr. David.

I am now happy to say that I have not had a bladder infection for 5 months. I have not had one bladder accident. My urine has no strong odor or strange color. I am confident now on over night trips, jump, run, play hard without fear of losing my bladder. I can FEEL the URGE to empty my bladder. I am a new person! My backpack for school now only has my lunch and books- no more “extra” clothes!

Thank you lord for answering out prayers. Thank you Dr. Dave and Dr. Lorraine for your passion to help and your excellent care. Thank you Deborah for always cheering me up and keeping me motivated to drink water and warm up! Thank you all!

                        Love,
